1/2 oz Eagles below spot

I have an ad out of the November 2006 American Hunter for 1/2 oz gold eagles for $320 each. The company is 1st capital reserve.

Has anyone done business with them recently? Will they honor the ad, do you think? It says new customers only and limit 40 coins and a bunch of other fine print stuff.

I'm thinking I'll call them tomorrow and ask for the coins at that price. I'll just make sure I say no to everything else they'll probably try to sell me. That is, unless others here have had bad experiences with them, then I may just let it go.

You should be ok. thats a good deal , 640$out the door!

Remember the Littleton scam? Well I was in the coin shop and he had a stack of the eagles in the plastic from littleton, I wonder if he ordered them or someone sold them to him.

This coin shop owner sells me $400 worth of silver, no receipt, no cash register , he just wads up the cash and stuffs it in his pocket AND HES CHARGING ME SALES TAX. I dont say anything cause I dont want to spoil the relationship. He says he'll buy the silver back anytime at 93%.

But I think when I sell the handfull of coins I have Im gonna shoot for spot.

I am pretty sure the answer is yes.

I am pretty sure I got 10 1/10oz from this company before on a special offer. (I am sorry though to report they were lost in a fishing accident when using my bucket of pm's for an anchor)

Are you sure that isn't First Fidelity Reserve? I tried to order their 2005/6 eagles from the AR december issue but they raised the price. I beileve that they are actually being sued for questionable business practices - pitching heat, selling overvalued coins, etc.

That must be the same place that calls me all the time now. I get them confused because they all sound the same, and they all call me.

They call me with some "great" offers from time to time and ask me things like how quick can I get $30 thousand dollars (making it sound very urgent like I am about to miss out). The last time they did it I instictively laughed and told them how absurd they must be to think I would invest that much on telemarketing call on an investment I know nothing about. It totally threw him off. He stutered a bit and then suddenly he had to go because he "had a meeting", less then two minutes after he called me. That got rid of him pretty quick. :smokin: It was totally hillarious but was one of those things you had to be there for. :D

Otherwise the coins always show up. I just think they like to swindle people into overpriced investments. The cheap gold is just to get your phone number.

Can you post the cuopon code?

I went by borders and that mag's off the rack. You need to put in more info if you want anybody else to be able to do this. you would really impress us if you scanned a pic of the ad. LOL

Did anyone else respond to that other offer from American Heritage for the free SAE? I just received mine yesterday and they also threw in a 1776 1976 Eisenhower coin with it. Not bad for 2.95

you ought to go find the last thread bout that and put this post there, to try and keep our topics well organzied. especially in this section we ought to keep it well organized which will help us be efficient in our "investing" such as it is

I will update my dealings with AHS tomorrow when I get out my painstakingly detailed records.

Sorry everyone, I've been away from home for several days and didn't have much warning that I was going to be gone.

The ad is on the inside front cover. It is 1st Capital Reserve and they are out of Beaumont, Texas. It says 1/4 oz are $163 and 1/2 oz are $320.

PM me if you want the phone number and vault verification.
